The Craftsmen training scheme was introduced by the Government of India in ; 1950 to ensure a steady flow of skilled workers in different trades for the domestic industry, to raise quantitatively and industrial production systematic training, to reduce unemployment among the educated youth by providing them employable training, to cultivate and nurture a technical and industrial attitude in the minds of the younger , generation. The Scheme, the most important in the field of Vocational Training has been shaping craftsmen to meet the existing as well as future manpower need, through the vast network of it is in the various states/union territories in the country.

Admission Criteria
The candidate seeking admission to the 1St year of ITI (NCVT) course must have passed SS Examination / Matric / ICSE / CBSE or its equivalent examination with physics, chemistry & mathematics. Trainees of 1.T.I/I.1′.0 who have completed the prescribed period (one year or two years depending on the trade) of training he must complete minimum of 80% of total attendance conducted.
Application form along with Prospectus can be obtained from the office of the Centre on all weekdays except Sunday
